Indication of Poor Circulation in Legs

Poor circulation of blood can occur in any part of the body. The main two areas where poor circulation of blood takes place are near the leg portion and arms. These are the two proximities where poor circulation may take place. Poor circulation in legs is mainly caused by Venus Thrombosis. This acute disease is also known as Thrombophlebitis. This disease stays on for at least 1 to 2 weeks and can also be fatal at times. Some of the symptoms that are seen during this time are bluish coloration of the area, acute pain, accumulation of edema which is mainly a fluid, and some distention of the veins near the buttocks, thigh area and lower abdomen.

When these symptoms are seen, it is accompanied with acute pain and the main reason for this is the blockage of vein. When the vein blocks, the circulation of the blood gets disturbed and it cannot reach to all the parts of the body properly. Walking and standing becomes a big problem and you feel relaxed only when you are sitting. The leg feels very heavy and as a result walking becomes a problem. The moment you see this kind of symptoms you must consult a physician and post that certain tests need to be conducted to get in to the root of the problem. Tests like venogram, isotope venography and many others should be carried out, in case poor circulation in legs is noticed.

You must remember that this should be left untreated as the condition can become worse than this.

Poor circulation in legs can cause swelling of your feet, blood clotting, and the leg also feels very heavy and hot. As discussed earlier, poor circulation can be caused due to many reasons. It can happen because of lung disease, kidney disease and similar others. Again at times too much exposure to the environment can also cause the same problem, because we are constantly exposing ourselves to different chemicals around us. Exposure to too much cold can also disturb the blood circulation process. If you are a chain smoker or you drink a lot, then you must immediately stop it because it constricts the blood vessels. After you notice the symptoms it is completely in your hands to alleviate the situation. You should give up smoking and drinking completely, stop drinking caffeine beverages, so a lot of yoga and exercise which will help in maintaining a proper blood circulation and add a lot of vitamins in your diet.
